Hi, my name is Diana. I’m a Calgary based blogger, baker, and food photographer.
As long as I can remember, I’ve always loved baking. The Joy of Baking was my first cookbook. I’d spend hours searching for recipes to try. The joy was always in the pleasure of seeing how well it turned out and sharing it with my siblings.
Years later, I still find myself in the kitchen, baking.
Cinnamon and Toast started out as a fun and casual space where I can share my favorite recipes. But one thing leads to another and this eventually led me to food photography. I jumped in and signed up for a course in food photography with Sarah Fennel. This course covered the fundamentals, composition, light, color and how to find my own unique visual voice.
Photographs capture a story. Yes, even food photography. When you see an image, what’s the story? What is it saying? What emotion are you feeling? I absolutely love this. You’ll find me most days, in my tiny studio, behind the lens.
There’s also one more thing about me, I do believe in eating a whole food diet. Foods that are non-GMO, organic and free of refined sugar. I especially love recipes that are easy and quick to prepare.
I’m a proud mom of three, or should I say five, beautiful kids, Justin, Nicki, Evan… and Mya, our little Pomeranian and now Ivy, a white teacup chihuahua.
Thanks for stopping by!
