Homemade Ladyfingers

Homemade Ladyfingers

Homemade Ladyfingers

These homemade ladyfingers, or savoiardi, are soft and delicate on the inside and have a lightly sweetened crust on the outside.  So easy to make and consists of only 5 ingredients.

Ladyfingers are rather simple cookies made with sponge cake batter.  Why make them at home when they are so readily available in stores?  The cookies from this homemade version remain soft and supple.  Store bought are firm and crunchy.  So if you prefer a soft cookie then choose homemade.

It’s also the perfect size for little hands to hold onto….

Sinful Hot Chocolate

Sinful Hot Chocolate

I’m such a food geek.  My eyes lit up and I got excited when I found Dutch process cocoa at my local grocery store.

And what was the first thing I made?  You got it.  Hot chocolate.

Deep, rich and chocolaty.

A real treat.  Comforting and sinfully delicious….

Keukenhof

Keukenhof

3 years ago I was sleeping 5 hours a night.  I would often wake up at 4:30 in the morning and almost immediately, my mind would be filled with worry; thoughts of work, money and events of the past. The decision to bring myself back to health became a top priority.  I evaluated all those things that had a negative impact on my life and took the steps necessary to change it around.  I’m not going to lie, it was a long process….
